World Skate are delighted to announce the postponed 2023 Downhill Skateboarding World Championship in Tagaytay, Philippines. This event will be held between February 22-25 in 2024.

Tell me about the track?

The track chosen in Tagaytay has been tested by local athletes, and we’re pleased to have such a technical and demanding track for the World Championship. Athletes can expect speeds of up to 85km/h, a varying array of sweepers, multiple hairpins and very good pavement conditions. The track is 2.3 kilometres long, and so we expect it will provide ample opportunity for overtaking and create an exciting racing environment!

Who is eligible to compete?

The rider quota will be the same as at the World Skate Games Argentina; 8 maximum per gender with no more than 6 from the same discipline.

If you need confirmation of your eligibility, please contact the technical commission directly at downhill.skateboarding@worldskate.org

How much is the registration fee?

Registration will cost $275 USD and will be open from Monday January 15th to Friday February 9th and should be handled directly with your National Governing Body (NGB). All athletes must register via Infinity, you may begin setting up your profile ahead of registration.

What’s included with registration?

  • Rider Entry
  • Lunch Meals at the event venue
  • Shuttle to and from official accommodation and the track every day

Pre-seeding for future events

We are introducing pre-seeded positions for future events. These allow athletes in the Top 5 of Mens Skate, Top 5 in Womens Skate, Top 5 in Mens Luge and Top 5 in Womens Luge to be eligible for the subsequent event without counting against your country’s quota (Next event TBD). That means these riders will not be required to compete in Qualifying Events within their respective region.

If you have any further questions please email us directly at downhill.skateboarding@worldskate.org
